Ours To Tell

  • Ours to Tell is the story of four people who live full and empowered lives because they had the freedom to access abortion. Ours to Tell spotlights what it means to a person’s future to have bodily autonomy and issues a call for compassion and self-determination. A departure from the way abortion is often portrayed, the film centers on voices that are rarely heard — including Black, Latinx, and transgender people.

  • Foster safe spaces for conversations about abortion; increase the visibility of people of color and the LGBTQ+ community in the reproductive justice space, and drive support for initiatives protecting abortion access.

  • ● Conduct outreach to reproductive health-focused groups and institutions

    ● Leverage existing Planned Parenthood and We Testify relationships with abortion funds and reproductive justice organizations

    ● Develop a discussion guide around the film to help create a safe and encouraging space for post-screening conversations

    ● Direct screening hosts who are not already involved in reproductive justice organizations to local initiatives that they can support

  • ● 66 grassroots community screenings facilitated, reaching an estimated 1,800 people

    ● 12 organizations were supported by proceeds raised at screenings

    ● Screenings were hosted in states with some of the most restrictive abortion laws, including Alabama, Louisiana, Ohio, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.
